DJ Sanchez played with his first turntable at the tender age of 2, which he promptly broke. 13 years later, he finally picked one up again, determined to take on the cotillion scene by storm, which would ultimately lead him to where he is today. Originally entering the DJ scene to be the cotillion DJ that actually played kids music instead of just parents music, his intents and goals as a DJ have thoroughly evolved since those high school days, especially after college. After being introduced to the art of turntablism by his fraternity brother, Don Labung, he has developed a unique style and skill set that allows him to bring any music to the table, and find a way to make it work. Whether it is playing the modern hits at a club, or rocking out to disco at a 50th birthday party, his passion for music pushes him to find the right music to keep the crowd moving. Events that he has done include cotillions, retirement parties, birthdays, and weddings. In the past few years, he has taken the college tour as the DJ for RAPS and Kappa Phi Lambda of Rutgers, FLASH of Seton Hall, Sigma Beta Chi of Kean University, Omicron Pi of Stevens, and of course WJTB, FSA, and his fraternity, Psi Upsilon, at NJIT. He was the DJ for the cultural show for FIND at Fordham University and will be the DJ for this years Ms. Philippines hosted by Rutgers Newark’s very own FSA. In addition to the college scene he has been DJing in the New York City club scene, where he was recruited by Abstract Sounds. With them he has spun at venues such as Roam, Studio 19, Retreat, PT 212, and most recently, Tonic Bar And Lounge on 7th Ave, right by the 49th street station, on New Years Eve. Also, he worked as the DJ at the Filipino Independence Day parade in Jersey City. He would also like to give a quick shout out to Project D Dance Company, who have been great supporters for these past few years.
