The March 2013 Tele-Salon featured our friends Will Ruddick and Jacky Kowa who are doing incredible work with impoverished communities in Mombasa, Kenya. They will begin by briefly catching us up with political climate in Kenya, and how that impacts their current projects. Will and Jacky will also share their lessons learned from their highly successful projects that BWB has been proudly supporting for the past three years-
-Motomoto Circus-This program teaches the art of fire dancing to homeless youth living on the streets of Mombasa, Kenya
-Bangla Pesa- Community-Backed currency that gives business communities a way to create their own mutual-credit-clearing system to build economic resiliance and self-fund community development programs.

**About Will Ruddick**
Will is a physicist turned die-hard development worker. He left a career in High Energy Physics to live and try to make a difference in Kenya in 2007. Will is the Country Director of Green World Campaign - Kenya, Associate Scholar at the Institute for Leadership and Sustainability and co-founder of Koru-Kenya. He has designed and managed development programs in environment, health, and economics. He is best known for his founding of MotoMoto Circus teaching fire dance to street kids in Mombasa Kenya and for the Eco-Pesa a Complementary Currency system.
**About Jacky Kowa**
Jacky is a specialist in Behavior Change Communication focusing on women's empowerment and health and a native Kenyan. She has worked for six years in Kenya helping development programs reach and impact impoverished communities.

The BWB Tele-Salon is an effort to strengthen relationships within the Burning Man & BWB communities.
