Follow your DREAMS!-Teflon Dawn Melanie "Teflon Dawn" Thompson was born in Houston, Texas to a divorced mother of two (2). She was introduced to music at an early age by her mother who owned three (3) record stores and her musician brother. She spent all of her young life playing in the record stores and watching her brother rehearse his band in their home. One night when she was four (4) years old, she attended an Ashford & Simpson concert at the Houston Music Hall with her mother and her life was changed forever. When she and her mother were invited backstage to meet the couple, Nick Ashford lifted her up and sat her on his knee and hugged and kissed her while Valerie played with her and sang. At the time she loved the group because her mother loved them. She was bit by the music bug forever....and not as a listener only.
