Simone Cilio is a film composer born in Niscemi, Sicily and based in Italy. His passion for music emerged at a very young age, when he started playing the drums at just 6 years old. Over the years, he played in three different bands, honing his drumming skills and developing a deep appreciation for a wide range of musical genres. He is proficient in piano, guitar, drums, bass, and percussion, allowing him to explore a variety of sounds and arrangements. During this time, he also released his first instrumental album, "Accarezza il vento", which marked the beginning of a more mature artistic phase, where Simone began orchestrating and studying the theory of music applied to films. In December 2015, he composed the score for the feature film "Badsville", directed by April Mullen (Legends of Tomorrow, Lethal Weapon, Wander), starring Robert Knepper, Emilio Rivera, and Ian McClaren. For this project, his score was nominated for Best Original Score at the 2016 Maverick Movie Awards. Simone's professional journey continued with numerous collaborations, including work with the creative collective "The Herd Represented," with which he composed scores for corporate films for prestigious brands like Belmond, Roccoforte Hotels, Volvo, and Olam. His ability to create emotionally engaging atmospheres through music quickly attracted the attention of the film industry and, to date, he has worked on over 100 feature films including "Cheer Bloody Murder" starring Tom Sizemore, Scout Taylor-Compton, James Duval, Sean Whalen, and "Lockdown", featuring Michael Paré and Bai Ling, distributed by Lionsgate. His work has received critical acclaim, and in 2019, the documentary "The Last Signal" won an Emmy Award for Best Documentary.
