1974 is: Mike Forgette - Guitar/Vocals Tim Moore - Drums/Vocals Gary Dionne - Bass/Vocals Adam Clymer - Guitar Parker Hu - Keyboards/Vocals Hailing from Newington, Connecticut, 1974 is a five-piece progressive rock band that conjures up the massive and powerful emanations of a bygone era. Since 2007, the band has been awing audiences with powerful guitar driven riffs, rich vocal harmonies, catchy melodies, and high-energy stage shows. With a flair for the dramatic, guitarists Mike Forgette and Adam Clymer harmonize guitar leads and throw solos back and forth at each other from across the stage. Bassist Gary Dionne’s playing has been described as an eccentric, bombastic, and virtuosic manifestation. Drummer Tim Moore’s soulful vocal style adds an empathetic layer to the music while his progressive-influenced drumming drives the band into powerful and uncharted territories. Parker Hu captivates audiences with her fanciful keyboards and ensnares them with her unique and tense vocals. Live Reviews “Soaring twin-guitar leads, chugging riffs and virtuosic shifts in the tempo and pace of the songs…from a young band worth watching.” Eric Danton. The Hartford Courant “Oh my god…this is some seriously unashamed early prog worship.” Dan Barry. The Hartford Advocate “I really do love when a band surprises me from out of nowhere. I also love it when a band does something that I honestly wasn’t sure was possible. That band in both cases is CT’s own 1974…This is one extremely talented band.” Chip McCabe. CT.com Album reviews “Ear candy for the masses…I highly recommend you add this masterpiece to your collection ASAP.” Tamyra Davis. Local Band Review “Truly EPIC. HUGE Sounding. I can’t help but sing along with the incredible harmonies. Every strum, beat, vocal was meticulously planned. Music that moves your soul up & down so fluidly and sweet and sometimes as I listened it brought tears to my eyes.” Jenna Kijowski. CTAintSoBad.com “A creation that can be described in no other way but epic…a breathtaking moment of grandiose design. 1974 & The Death of the Herald exists to be heard from start to finish…Four different singers, all gifted, always catchy.” Chris Mariotti. LonesomeNoise.com “I must issue a warning, before you listen to the title track, have a change of underwear nearby, cause you might need it. This track includes everything I love about music; a slow beginning, then a superb riff (again!!!), fantastic vocals, a grand arrangement and a choir reminiscent of the mighty Queen or Rhapsody Of Fire.” Robert Axelsson.
